Hi, my name is Shermaine, founder of LovebyEmma—a chef and skin expert who turned a lifetime of skin challenges into a purpose-driven skincare line.

My journey started at 12 with mild acne that gradually escalated to severe, chronic cystic acne in my late 20s. I tried it all: countless over-the-counter products, well-known brands, and years of oral, topical, and injectable prescriptions. I met with more than 100 dermatologists. Relief was always temporary. Nothing truly healed my skin.

After giving birth to my daughter, Emma, my skin became even more reactive. I developed intense sensitivities, scalp burning, hair loss, and painful sores on my arms and legs. Overwhelmed and exhausted, I cleared my entire skin routine and went back to first principles.

I leaned on the training that shaped me as a curry chef: respect for ingredients, precision in sourcing, purity in preparation, and balance in formulation. I researched relentlessly, studied skin biology, pertaining to food ONLY and not medical medicine. I began crafting small-batch formulations using only the highest-quality organic ingredients, botanical from trusted growers around the world. I removed common irritants, preservatives and unnecessary fillers—and I listened closely to how my skin responded over time.

Gradually, my skin calmed and these skin conditions were no longer there. I shared samples with others experiencing stubborn conditions, and the feedback was profound: less irritation, fewer flare-ups, and visible repair. Those results—and Emma (my daughter)were daily reminder that lead with love and honesty—became the foundation of LovebyEmma.

Today, LovebyEmma stands for purity, honesty, and results. We formulate with chef-level standards: clean, potent botanicals, organic butters, oils, fruits, vegetables and spices from around the world and meticulous batch control.
